Andy Sippits 
 
Andy Sippits was one of the nicest guys I knew 
We danced to simple minds 
But we never grew 
 
Andy had so much to give to life 
A bright future a career 
Maybe even kids and a wife 
 
Andy would never hurt a fly 
And because of that 
It's hard to know why 
 
Andy died in a car crash 
Andy died swerving to avoid a cat 
Andy died how sad is that 
 
Note: I was working as a DJ in the late 80's and I met a really polite friendly lad who loved Simple Minds the band as much as I did - Andy always used to ask me to play some and we would dance on the dance floor. I just remember him being so happy and so polite. One day he never showed and someone eventually told me he had died in a car crash. Apparently he swerved to avoid hitting a cat. I found it so tragic such a nice man dying so young. Now whenever I listen to simple Minds I always think about Andy.
